The other day I bought a Paper Crafts magazine because they had the cutest cupcake cards on the front. So I CASE'd it and made a valentine cupcake. It took a little while because they didn't have the template in the mag. I had to draw one and am pleased with the result! My muse hasn't been around for about two weeks to give me any original ideas, so have to resort to CASEing. But then, that's what buying card magazines is all about - to give ideas, right???.(wink!)
I should have waited to take the pic in daylight because the colour is off a bit with my halogen overhead lights. I used Bazzill Pink Bling for the top; PP is by Daisy Bucket cut with decorative scallop scissors, and Bazzill Corduroy Brown for the main cupcake part of the card. Also I used a heart punch for the decorations on top of the cupcake,Pink Stickles on the hearts, and a Sizzlet die for the tiny tag.

More Valentines
Last night I did two "variations on a theme" valentines, using Inque Boutique See D's stamp, "Love Verse".
I had an idea in mind of graphic red, white and black, but I'm not sure I like the way they turned out. Might it be the damask background stamp is too busy, or maybe the paper should be a brighter red??? The only thing I do like is the glittery, red letter L.
The embossed hearts are Spellbinders Shapeabilities "Photo Corners".
Oh well, they will get mailed out anyhow, even if I'm not crazy about the finished product. (sigh) Where o where has my MUSE gone?? She hasn't been around for a couple of days........

Afternoon with Marilyn and Robin
I drove to Antigonish with Robin today to meet with Marilyn at the Dragonfly Cafe. Great spot to eat - all homemade food, cookies and muffins. The Cookie Monster, my husband, put in his order for me to buy of a half a dozen of their cookies.
Afterwards, we headed to Lisa's store, "Scrap and Shop". She has so much of the latest stuff! I dropped a few $$$ there on a new Spellbinders Edgeabilities Die - corners, hearts, and a square; also some patterned paper and Bazzill Bling cardstock, all on sale!
Marilyn gave me and Robin a very pretty, magnetic four seasons calendar in a box. She is just so creative and comes up with the neatest little projects! Marilyn, you are so sweet...Thanks and hugs!
These are the little "double pocket" gift bags I made for Marilyn and Robin, filled with some embellies for Valentine's Day, and candy. The tutorial is on Splitcoasters:

Scrapbook Page for Julie -Tuesday, Jan.20/09
I finally got around to doing a bachelorette party scrapbook page for my daughter Julie (the one on the left in the pic). She was married in Sept./07! There is still the journalling to do; however, have to call her to get details! (wink). The chipboard letters, embellies and rub-ons are from Die Cuts With A View "All Dressed Up". Don't know who makes the black bride/bachelorette paper which I picked up last fall at the local scrapbook store (looks brown in the pic for some reason??). The pink daisy paper is from last year's Stampin'Up! cattie, and I used Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid Pink ink to stamp the little flowers on the black paper. Man oh man, those round journalling dotted lines are some hard to do freehand....don't look too closely at wonkiness. LOL! The round embellie on the left has a black high heel shoe on it - sorry, the flash from the camera made a white spot on the pic. I would have taken another but the darn battery was just about all used up.

Jan.13/09 Another Valentine
This morning I went swimming at the "Y", then did some stamping while enjoying a cup of tea to warm up afterwards. It was -22C at 7:00am! This is another House Mouse valentine to add to my stash.
I used the Nesties Scalloped Ovals to cut the oval from the brown printed paper for the image to show through (rather than having the image on an oval mounted on top.
There is crystal glaze on the chocolate heart and bits of chocolate for dimension; also Doodlebug Sugar Coating pink glitter on the heart embellie (cuttlebug die) The verse 'how sweet' is from a small set of Studio G stamps.

A friend just had day surgery so I sent her this card to let her know I was thinking of her. Inside the verse reads "Consider yourself hugged!" Both stamps are by Stampabilities House Mouse. The lace border is a punch by Martha Stewart. I really, really like these new Nesties Labels. The shape is great for smaller image stamps, rather than a plain square of paper.

This is a simple card I made for a neighbour who took pity on us the day after the New Year Day's storm. He used his snowblower to help clear our driveway once the plow came by and pushed it all back in. (since our snowblower wasn't working and we were "pooped" from shovelling out our cars)
Here are some pics of the storm:

This is a new house mouse I recently bought from http://rkstamps.com, and I also used my new Nesties Label dies.
Great service from Ally and cheap shipping to Canada. The name of the stamp is "Lip Smacking Relaxin'". It is coloured with Twinkling H20's on the teacup, so there is a little bling! On the inside I used the Hero Arts verse stamp "Quiet cold winter, warm comforts" which I thought was appropriate since the mousie is drinking hot chocolate.
